Excel DSUM Function – Notes and Example

What does DSUM do?
The DSUM function is used to calculate the sum of values in a database (table) based on given criteria.
It works only when data is arranged in a proper table with headings.

Syntex :- 
=DSUM(database, field, criteria)

Arguments
Database – Select the complete table including headers
Field – Column name or column number to sum
Criteria – Range containing conditions

Example Data Table :-




Formula Example :- 

Database › whole table
Field › Qty
Criteria range › Product
                                Laptop 





Use of Dsum »

→Sales reports
→Brand-wise totals
→Category-wise analysis
→Simple database-style calculations

Note :-
DSUM works only when:
Table has proper headers
Criteria range also includes headers
